Description
Wilderness Swim Safety® is a cutting-edge water safety course designed to meet the needs of wilderness trip leaders with a focus on prevention. The course is hybrid, with one day practical in-water training, a preceding evening classroom session, and on-line training to be completed prior to arrival.
Site assessment, swimmer assessment, and improvising water safety equipment are key components that differentiate this course from traditional waterfront courses.
This Wilderness Swim Safety® certification via Landmark Learning is good for 2 years as long as current CPR and WFA credentials, or more extensive corresponding training, is maintained.
Prerequisites
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Current certification in WFA or longer hour credential and Adult CPR (or equivalent, eg board certification in Emergency Medicine)
